Vantage Career Center Welding Instructor 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR Job Objectives: Plans, implements and evaluates instruction in welding curriculum designed to address a wide range of maturity and skill levels.
Assists secondary high school students with post-secondary placement.
Encourages parental involvement. Minimum
Possess or be eligible for valid state department of education license/certificate appropriate for the position.
u Ability to successfully teach courses in Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding.
u American Welding Society (AWS) Certification(s) preferred.
u Connect the program to local businesses and industries to meet their workforce training needs.
u Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, medical exam, etc.)
u A record free to criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
u Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
u Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.
u Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques.
